Port Adelaide Subdivision Streets Not Dedication Accepted
Town Clerk warns buyers in the Port Adelaide subdivision that the council will not accept dedication of streets abutting blocks along Outer Harbor Road near Fort Largs. Purchasers may face orders to form level pave and drain portions of roadways at their expense. March 25 1919. By order of the Council. E Bradwell Town Clerk.

War Shrine Unveiled at Port Adelaide Church
A war shrine was unveiled at St. Pauls Church Port Adelaide to honor parish men who died in the great war. The oak crucifix carries 1914 Lest We Forget and Liveth for evermore Kipling. Relatives laid wreaths after the ceremony.

Wyandra Brings 31 Australian Troops to Port Adelaide
The Wyandra arrived from Fremantle with 31 Australian troops, seven to South Australia, at Semaphore anchorage Monday. Quarantine delayed offloading for an hour while passengers signed articles. South Australian soldiers released include H Daw, H W Rettig, A Robertson, S Green, J Haywood, E E Lowe, I Farrell and sisters J B Lowe and C Virgin. Lieut H L Baring commanded the troops. Capt Hawthorne was medical officer. Capt S Breartey, on a Flying Corps trip, was aboard. The ship carried 420 passengers and held three impromptu concerts during the voyage.

Motorbike Crash Injures Two near Port Adelaide
On Hart Street a motor bike traveling from Semaphore to Rosewater collided with a cart injuring Lance Deslandes of Semaphore and H. Bower of Birkenhead. Deslandes suffered lacerations and abrasions to hands knees and legs with a back hand wound. both were treated at Port Adelaide Casualty Hospital.

Tug-Of-War Entries Sought For Hindmarsh Event
Entries open for a tug of war at the Black Lion Hotel Hindmarsh on Saturday April 6. Prizes pay 60 30 and 10 percent of entrance fees plus 5 pounds. Teams cost 10 pounds each and must include eight pullers a captain and one emergency. Entries close April 19 with Mr Crowe or Mr H J Barnes.

Influenza case reported in Paddington area
A Wednesday influenza case from William Street Paddington, Rosewater, Port Adelaide was treated by Dr. Rupert Magarey and sent to Adelaide Hospital then Exhibition isolation hospital. The household and a Dudley Street contact were isolated but quarantine ends as case was ordinary influenza.

Veteran Port Adelaide sailor captain Evans returns to sea aboard War Capitol
Captain David Evans, a familiar Port Adelaide figure for 25 to 27 years, commands the British ship War Capitol returning to outer harbor service. He previously helmed the Oakhurst on 14 voyages from Liverpool, then the Howth, and Sofala before retirement. He resumed duty for the wartime fleet, praising War Capitol’s first voyage carrying coal to Italy and wheat to Port Adelaide.
