The Missioner Mr J C Stanley conducted a weekly concert on Nile Street Seamen’s Cert. The usual attendance and talent were on display. Miss Gladys Hutchings played music, Mr Robertson of the Canadian Traveller sang, Miss Margot Morrison performed, and Mr Ben Parkinson, with his wife, sang. Ben Forbes did rapid sketches, with one scene sketched in graphic style. Attendees were entertained by singing and drawing, ending with references to the Rest.

Trial trip of the S S Erina for Commonwealth Government
The third vessel of the E Class built by Poole and Steele completed fitting out and made a trial voyage into St Vincent Gulf under Captain D Ellis. The 3348 ton gross shelter deck cargo ship, 1907 tons net, 430 feet long, 48 foot beams, 26 foot depth, with well furnished crew and officers quarters, performed well at sea reaching 11.2 knots during tests. the Emma led the way with compass checks by Captain W P Lee.
