Alfred Donnell identified his wife Rose Donnell as the deceased struck by a train near Peel Street Yatala on February 26. An inquest heard witnesses recalling the scene, the child’s survival, and the driver Maddern as the train from Port Adelaide traveled Dry Creek line.
Presto Rudolph Maddern, engine driver living at Semaphore, said the Port Adelaide train left February 26 at 8 38 pm with a passenger carriage and brake van. He described signaling, braking, and a white form at the crossing before the vehicle was struck, noting an ordinary 12 mile an hour speed and that pedestrians could be seen from yards away. The Coroner ruled the death at Yatala on February 26, 1916 was an accidental run over at Peel Street crossing.
Mayor JOIN SWEENEY calls a public meeting at Port Adelaide Town Hall on Wednesday March 8 1916 at 2 pm. The session will submit the specification of works and proposal for tramways and seeks ratepayer support for a loan of 21 20 Ordex. Meeting announced from the Mayor's Parlor.

A fatal industrial collapse at Adelaide Chemical and Fertilizer Companys Port Adelaide plant killed two workers and injured another while filling superphosphate bags. Workers Ryder and Hewitt died instantly, Trembath narrowly escaped, as the twin dressing plant collapsed during bagging operations prompting an inquest at the Adelaide Police Court.
Cherry reported both men dead after a hopper collapse at the Chemical Company. Hewitt and Ryder had recently begun work in February, with the machine operable only a day before the incident. William Trembath, injured fathered by the crash, and chief engineer Robert Wilson described the failure of a timber beam that split, allowing the hopper to drop. The coroner ruled accidental death.
