Died for their Country in England during World War I
The Mitchel family of Port Adelaide report the death of Fred J. E. Mitchell of the 3rd Mechanical Transport Company in Ilford England on June 5 from heart failure due to pleurisy contracted on active service. He was born Minlaton Yorke Peninsula and educated at Alberton Public School. His brothers served. one returned with injuries and another later died in action. The notice lists several other local service members including Private Arch. D. Bowie and Private Kevin A. Keogh, with details of their service and fates.
