Stories of severe distress in Port Adelaide were shared at a meeting of the Mayor's Relief Fund Committee. A woman and her children faced cold and hunger as her husband had been unemployed for months.

Crew includes Africans from Senegal and Madagascar. Seven Greeks, five Italians, four Indians, two Cypriots, a Russian, two New Caledonian women, and an Irish nun are noted among Australians bound for Melbourne and Sydney. Eight Yugoslavs including two infants disembarked at Port Adelaide, with others heading to River Murray district, Broken Hill, Melbourne, and Sydney.
The Leveret and Defiance, wooden ships once at Adelaide Street Co. Limited, are to be broken up after purchase by Hugh Moret of Port Adelaide. Port Adelaide’s ship breaking industry has progressed, with vessels including the steamship Juno, water tanker Stanley, and schooner Dorothy H. Atrling beached for dismantling near the business district. Work is expected to start soon as the ships are prepared for breaking.
