Peter Marcus Hopkins Anderson, 43, of Dock, appeared at Port Adelaide fortune Court on Saturday charged with breaking into the Port Adelaide Congretban Church with felonious intent. Evidence showed a broken window and forced locks after a ported incident. Anderson admitted the break in and pleaded guilty. Inspector Noblet said he had two prior convictions and time at the Reformatory. The boy was sent to the Reformatory for two years.

After a brief illness William Smith a Port Adelaide veteran died at his Leslie Place residence. A 52 year colonist he arrived from England aboard the City of Adelaide and worked as a wharf laborer for two decades before joining the waterside workers federation on October 3, 1872. He later served in the deepening department until retirement about 16 years ago. He lived in Leslie Place for over 40 years and is survived by two daughters Mesdames G. E. Carr Birkenhead and EA Brooks Portland, a granddaughter and four grandsons.

Stowaway Cecil Edward Holland Faces Court charged with Fremantle to Outer Harbor fare
Cecil Edward Holland, a ship broker turned stowaway, told officers he came from England to seek fortune for his mother and two sisters. He admitted travelling from Fremantle to Outer Harbor aboard the RMS Orcades on July 3 without paying fare. At Port Adelaide Police Court he pleaded guilty, saying he had only a rotten punt of tobacco. the bench fined him five pounds with 15 shillings costs and two weeks' imprisonment.
