A town meeting is planned next Tuesday evening to discuss securing full use of the Prince Alfred Sailors' Home and necessary alterations to better serve sailors. The gathering aims to empower resolutions and government representations, inviting all who recognize the debt to sailors regardless of party or sect.
Henry John Hamilton, 19, a laborer, was fined £2 10s with 15 shillings costs at Port Adelaide Police Court for using indecent language at Semaphore Road on January 25. Bench members Channon and Watson called the language shocking after hearing stableman Hanberry testify about the remarks.

Mrs Joseph Ellis marked her 66th birthday aboard. Born Maria Rachael Machon on Guernsey in 1833, she came to Australia in 1854. She married Joseph Ellis in 1857, lived years in Port Adelaide as a blacksmith, retired 1904, died 1902. She resided later at Oxford Terrace New Parkside with seven children and numerous grandchildren.
Mr J DeBrenni a Kilkenny resident employed at the L A Wheat Board Port Adelaide was working in a stack of wheat at Ocean Steamer's Wharf on Thursday when a bag fell on his head causing slight concussion he was taken to Port Adelaide Casualty Hospital for treatment
