Patrick Kelly laborer of Port Adelaide faced indecent behavior charges at the Port Adelaide Police Court. Before Judge Sinclair and magistrates Gillies Ward, he pleaded guilty for an incident on January 22 at the Esplanade Largs Bay. He was fined £1 with costs.
Salvation Army in South Australia under Divisional Commander Harris to hold public services next Sunday at 11 am and 7 pm and Monday at 8 pm with an outdoor service at Black Diamond Corner. Lecture at 8 pm Monday with Historic Prayer Rooms offering free admission. Marine excursion announced for Thursday February 5 from McLaren Wa st at 8 pm returning about 1 o'clock.
City invites alternative tenders for a six month or longer lease of Town Hall facilities in Port Adelaide. Tenders must be received by 4 pm on the Sunday in February 1930, addressed to the Town Clerk and marked Tender for Town Hall. Bradwell, Town Clerk, Town Hill, Port Adelaide.

Port Adelaide Court heard two timber loading offences delaying Ocean Steamers Road. Thomas John Jones faced £2 fine and £1 10s costs after being seen dragging jarrah on a dray to Fisher Bridge. Ray Davies pleaded guilty after information was altered. fined £2 plus £1 10s costs.
At the Port Adelaide Police Court Francis Antony laborer was in arrears £700 to November 1910 on a weekly maintenance order for his wife. State Children’s Department officer Mr Kearney pressed for imprisonment. The court, noting payments of £6, ex parte, imposed one month in jail rather than two.
Mr T B Anderson of Rosewater Norfolk Street had three fingers on his left hand crushed while driving piles at Osborne on Wednesday afternoon. He failed to pull away in time and the monkey came down catching his fingers. He was treated at Port Adelaide Casualty Hospital where the middle finger was amputated.
An improvised court at the Outer Harbor held Friday morning after RMS Orsova arrival. Percy F. Perrett faced a charge for boarding the ship without paying fare after leaving Melbourne. He was fined 5 shillings with 15s costs or 3 hours in the police cell to ensure he remained ashore until the ship sailed.
Henry Hains a Port Adelaide printer faced indecent literature charges after a packet sent by post to his son in Melbourne was found to contain printed sheets with obscene material. The court heard the package went astray and was returned to the dead letter office. Hains admitted knowledge of the material and the offense. He was fined five pounds plus one pound costs, with one month imprisonment in default, and given a week to pay.
Marian Krause sought support from Victor Kroemer Krause, a Redhill mason’s labourer, charged last Friday after October 2 with failing to provide. He offered 10 per week. court ordered 15 per week forthwith. Krause had left Marian in 1916, with only £3 since. she owned their home and sold furniture for maintenance.
A farewell social for Rev E A Radcliffe MOA rector of St Albans Church of England, Largs Bay, was held in the schoolroom on Tuesday evening January 20. Present were Rev J Welsh and St Bede's Church of England members. He received a travelling rug and a silver mounted umbrella from church and teachers. Gerald Radcliffe, his son, was presented as he prepares for studies in England aboard the Orsova with his father.
In Port Adelaide Police Court last Friday, Mr B J Kearney noted a marked age disparity in a maintenance case. The couple wed in April 1906 with the wife aged 68 and the husband 39, an unusually wide gap for the period.
A man dies after a disturbance at the Central Hotel in Port Adelaide on Thursday afternoon. Thomas McMahon, 40, a wharf labourer, died at Port Adelaide Casualty Hospital. Herman Gustav Peterson, a returned soldier, was arrested and charged with murder. An inquest was set for the day, with remand granted until Saturday at 10.00. Both men are believed to be single.
Detective Trotter arrested Charles Reilly, signed on in Melbourne, on a Thursday morning at the Water Harbor, for the alleged desertion of his child in Sydney.
A Port Adelaide Juvenile Court hearing involved a boy about 14 charged with larceny of a gentleman’s open faced watch valued at £4. The defendant admitted using a watch received from another boy and claimed the missing piece was later discarded near a railway line. The court committed him to a reform school until age 18.
The Salvation Army South Australian Divisional Commander Colonel A Harris and Mrs Harris will conduct public services at Dale Street Barracks at 11 am and 7 pm on Sunday following an outdoor service near the "Black Diamond" camer. On Monday Colonel Harris will lecture in Dale Street Hall on Historic Prayer Rooms of Europe. General invitation urged.
