Port Adelaide minister drowns rescuers battle with surf
A Port Adelaide swimming party faced strong breakers and undertow as Rev P R Ferris of St Peter's College and Rev G H Wright and companions fought to reach shore. Ferris died after aiding others, while Wright and others were rescued. Mrs Joyce and two daughters await word as the group struggled in heavy surf near Middleton Beach.
