Obituary of Charles Brown Queenstown Oil Servant
Charles Brown died Tuesday at his residence at the corner of Long and East Streets Queenstown. He served as an oil servant for the Adelaide Steamship Company from 1Bd1 and was chief steward until retirement in recent years. He was highly regarded by employers and shipmates on vessels including the Lubra Ferret Investigator Quorna Paringa and Wookata.

Fire at Sea Destroys The Four Winds Off Henley Grange
The auxiliary schooner Four Winds, a Royal Yacht Squadron registered pleasure yacht owned by Capt. J. G. Arnold of Mannum, caught fire early Wednesday while returning from Port Noarlunga. All four aboard including Mr. Gerge Arnold, Bruce Sherar, and Eric Dowling escaped in a dinghy, the vessel sinking about four to five miles offshore off Henley Grange. The crew were rescued by the Harbors Board launch Edith, with Captain Arnold later noting the fire started in the engine room. the boat, valued around £3,000 and insured for about half, was lost.

Port Adelaide court fines drunk man for assault on constable
At the Port Adelaide Police Court John Thomas Rawston pleaded guilty to resisting Constable Charles Henry Garner during a January 2 arrest at Glanville. Under influence of liquor he struck the officer while being taken to the station. A £1 fine with 15 costs was imposed, with seven days imprisonment if unpaid.

LARCENY OF CHAFF BAGS AT PORT ADELAIDE
Two fourteen year old boys faced Port Adelaide Police Court on theft charges after 56 chaff bags valued at 28 were stolen from Messrs Bungey Bros. They admitted intent to sell and attend the pictures. Both were remanded on bonds of five pounds each to secure good behaviour for two years.

Fall at Alberton Station Ends in Skull Fracture
George Phillips of Croydon fell from the Alberton platform while waiting for a Croydon bound train. He suffered a fractured skull after striking a rail. He was taken to Port Adelaide Casualty Hospital and then to Adelaide Hospital for treatment after a 5 pm express train passed Alberton.
