Robert Sheehan a married guard on the Port Adelaide railway line fell from a train between Woodville and Kilkenny. He died next morning after being taken to Adelaide Hospital. inquest returned accidental death.

Death of Port Adelaide Unionist Jane Maddigan at 75

The late Mr. Jane Maddigan died at Port Adelaide aged 75. Born in County Clare Ireland he arrived in 1875 and joined the Port Adelaide Working Men's Association. A staunch unionist he worked for the Port Adelaide Corporation in recent years. Survived by a large family including Mrs McNel and Miss D Maddigan Melbourne, Violet Maddigan Port Adelaide, and Messrs Michael John George and James Maddigan Port Adelaide.

A three horse trolley loaded with ammonia tubes exploded near McLaren Parade just before 1 p.m. The tube burst the cap, injuring a horse and causing gas fumes to affect workers and police.
