Two Thefts At Port Adelaide Court Involving Bicycle And Clothing
At Port Adelaide Police Court Mr G W Halcombe S M faced David Jones port Adelaide charged on indictment with larceny of a bicycle and a vest and shirt. Evidence showed Neale identified the clothing as his. the defendant admitted ownership of the bag items but could not explain how they got there. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two weeks' imprisonment with the stolen goods to be restored. Inspector Bond noted funds from the sale of the bicycle and the magistrate discussed handling of the sale proceeds.

Missions to Seamen Committee Meeting in Adelaide
At the monthly committee meeting in Adelaide the missioner reported on Outer Harbor and Port Adelaide works with very satisfactory two months. There were 16 services, 1083 present, 2016 letters written, 94 concerts, 15 men present, 2683 men using the institute, 6253 cups of coffee served, 238 women visitors, plus special entertainments for H M A S Sydney crew visits and hospital visits.

Street Begging Charge Against Port Adelaide Fireman
Edward Haley a ship's fireman was charged for begging alms in Commercial Road Port Adelaide on December 3. He admitted pleading guilty and claimed he was a sailor from the Port Darwin crew stranded in Port Adelaide. The magistrate imposed one month in prison noting his drunken state and unclear intent.

James Richards of Wellington Street Portland was loading wool aboard the steamer Citta di Gen cova at Queen's Wharf last Friday afternoon when a sling of wool struck him, injuring his leg. He received treatment at Port Adelaide Sty Hospital and was detained.
