In Port Adelaide two taxi and motor car drivers faced police court for touting passengers at the Port Adelaide railway station. Howard Carlson and Albert Heard were fined 10 with costs after admitting to leaving their vehicles to solicit customers in the station corridor during peak hours. A third driver, W H Gifford, faced the same charge with costs.

Inspector James testified he saw Gifford. the scene echoed the prior case as twenty to thirty yards separated them from his car. He warned a group generally and could not confirm the defendant’s presence. Channon said the warning was not to trap them. The defendant claimed he was absent at the warning and unaware of any by law offence. he was fined 10 with 25 costs.
Joseph Barber of Port Road Woodville was charged with carrying a timber lorry exceeding weight limits on Port Road on November 10. The court noted an excess of 1 ton 5 cwts and imposed a fine of 26 pounds with costs of 2 pounds 15 shillings 6 pence.

A Port Adelaide Local Board of Health meeting heard a conference on establishing an infectious diseases hospital. Represented boards included Adelaide Brighton Hindmarsh Port Adelaide and several others. The conference approved the scheme but amendments failed and the final motion carried on the Lord Mayor's casting vote.

Three men faced Fort Adelante Police Court on Tuesday over irregular school attendance. James Roach of Dina Street Queenstown pleaded guilty to failing to send his daughter Ellen Amslia Roach to Alberton school on October 28. Inspector Harold Edwards said schooling was lost and the family kept her home claiming illness and busyness. Two other defendants, Fil Nee Sahoo and William Levi, were also fined for keeping their children from school while awaiting exemptions.
Nominations received for City Alderman and Centre Ward Councillor at the Port Adelaide Town Hall. John Thomas Mason elected Alderman with further polling to decide Centre Ward Councillor on the 7th December with polling at the Town Hall Diamond Jubilee Hall and Port Adelaide State School from 8 am to 7 pm. Also notices Tender submissions invited by the Town Clerk and City Engineer with specs.
