Drivers fined for touting at Port Adelaide railway station
In Port Adelaide two taxi and motor car drivers faced police court for touting passengers at the Port Adelaide railway station. Howard Carlson and Albert Heard were fined 10 with costs after admitting to leaving their vehicles to solicit customers in the station corridor during peak hours. A third driver, W H Gifford, faced the same charge with costs.

Fall voting on infectious diseases hospital plan reported
A Port Adelaide Local Board of Health meeting heard a conference on establishing an infectious diseases hospital. Three men faced Fort Adelante Police Court on Tuesday over irregular school attendance. James Roach of Dina Street Queenstown pleaded guilty to failing to send his daughter Ellen Amslia Roach to Alberton school on October 28. Inspector Harold Edwards said schooling was lost and the family kept her home claiming illness and busyness. Two other defendants, Fil Nee Sahoo and William Levi, were also fined for keeping their children from school while awaiting exemptions.
