On Queen's Wharf a fortnight ago an Australian woman, reportedly with British parents, kissed a naval officer on the gangway before Roggeveen sailed. The gesture prompted jeers and a rebuke from a shipping man who intervened as officers returned the salute on deck.

Harry Drew a laborer of Tyne Street Glanville pleaded guilty at Port Adelaide Police Court to disturbing the peace on August 16. Police were summoned for a disturbance at a dwelling. he became belligerent inside then out in the street, kicked at doors and challenged a neighbor. He had four years service and was fined a sum to be paid in a fortnight.
The Dale Street Methodist Church now Port Adelaide Central Mission under Rev E W Brasher hosts the Fourth Men’s Anniversary next Saturday August 24. Rev He Estcourt Hughes arrives in the morning and Rev FB W Brasher presides at 7 o'clock, with Rev S Forsyth guiding a public meeting at 4:45.
