Port Star and Sema Phore Theatres Offer Family Prize

On Monday Tuesday and Wednesday evenings next the Fox masterpiece Who Are My Parents will be shown at the Port Star and Sema phore Theatres. Mr Clifford offers a £5 prize to the parents of the largest family in the Port district. The presentation will be made Tuesday evening by a district leader. Clifford plans new vaudeville items and will release new picture features on Monday and Thursday evenings rather than Saturdays and Wednesdays.

Regulating Port Traffic At St Vincent and Commercial

Port Adelaide Council asked Inspectr J E Noblet to set up three con stables at the busy intersection of St Vincent Street and Commercial Road. Constable Miller, the tallest in South Australia, was placed there temporarily from 4:30 to 5:45 pm on Tuesday. The plan may expand to morning periods as police availability remains limited and drivers must now conform to by laws or face prosecution.

Port Adelaide Court Examines School Attendance Fees

At Port Adelaide Police Court on Tuesday three education cases were heard. Magistrate and Mr G W Halcombe questioned whether parents must pay for doctors certificates or face prosecution. Witness Mr W H Wilkie said certificates are not demanded routinely and never used as threats. He noted some doctors charge, but the late Dr Coombe was known not to.
