Pig Falls From Sling On Steamer at Birkenhead Wharf
A pig being unloaded from the steamer Excelsior at Birkenhead Wharf slipped from a sling and fell several hundred pounds to the hold below. The carcass was damaged and would have spoiled meat if bled promptly. several Sunday dinners were lost.

Passenger Falls From Moving Car At Port Adelaide
At 11.5 pm a passenger, Mr Richard James McWhirter, attempted to alight a moving electric car near Mundy Street Port Adelaide. He suffered a gash above the left eyebrow a scalp wound injuries to both hands and bruises. He was found unconscious placed back on the car taken to Port Adelaide Casualty Hospital where Dr Cherry treated him. By Thursday he was progressing favourably.

Port Adelaide Officers Farewelled in Mixed Emotions
Port Adelaide police members gathered at the station to bid farewell to Senior Constables M Curtin and J W Baddams on retirement and Detective Inspector J C Burford, promoted to the Customs Department. Wholly respected by colleagues, they received Morris chairs and pipes, with Burford given pipes and a large brief bag. The division praised Curtin and Baddams for long service, noted Burford’s advancement, and recalled past tough times with German seamen and street disturbances.

The first of eight concerts and lectures for the Diamond Jubilee Renovation Scheme at Alberton Methodist Hall was held on a Saturday evening. Performances included piano duets, songs, recitations, and humorous pieces by Misses E V and H M Willsmore, Miss Eileen Thomas, Miss Valmai Smith, Mr H H Annells, Mrs E Rose, Rev R E Stanley, Mr E Edwards, Mrs Heywood-Smith, and others.
