Aged man killed at Queen's Wharf

A man identified as Mr. Reed John Rogers was fatally injured at Queen's Wharf Port Adelaide when a wagon's track ran over him after a collision with a tractor. The accident prompted an inquest decision by the city coroner not to proceed. Rogers had been boarding at Rosewater in the locality.

New Manse Dedicated by Semaphore Church of Christ

Dedication of the Semaphore Church of Christ manse was held Saturday afternoon with church officials and members present. Rev W Belter presided. Mr H Ro Ackland handed the key to trustee Mr Samuels. Funds cited include £1,160 borrowed for building, now repaid, and Mrs A Nichol reported over £440 raised by a member for the manse fund.

The Volunteer Wharf Laborers Union reports attempts to injure workers by tampering with snotters and guy-ropes during timber unloading from the steamer Kaolin. Charge of Assault Dismissed at Port Adelaide Court

Pillion Riding Offence At Adelaide Court

A Pillion riding offence in Adelaide involved George Richa of Corryton Street being charged for allowing a passenger on a motorcycle without footrests. Boys Break Into A House In Port Adelaide Juvenile Court

Three boys aged 14 to 15 appeared at Port Adelaide juvenile court charged with breaking into Ernest Hodgeman’s house at Persington on June 21 and stealing a silver watch, seven electric light globes, and a poker. Inspector Noblet stated police believed the youths were responsible. witnesses described furnishing and missing items as details emerged.

Teeny burglary case tied to a prank and several youths

A group of five youths faced court over a string of alleged break ins including Hoffmans house and a Juton theft on July 26.
