Parliament and Scottish Commissioners Debate Security and Funds
In September 1643 Scottish commissioners met Parliament with a declaration to preserve religion and liberties. A Lords and Commons committee negotiated, proposing public faith for funds to support forces, while malignants faced objections and debates on the Union and peace terms. The conference yielded agreement on the propounded plan after two sittings.
