Letters from Amsterdam and Baltic War News Depict Dutch Losses
The fragment notes Admiral Irwin’s report to the States General on slain, taken, and wounded. It claims thirteen Warmisling Statesmen captured by English forces, many sick and wounded in hospitals, and about 1000 men taken from ships reaching this city. Merchants fear further losses as more prizes arrive, while Desmarke awaits ships promised by the Lords who must first aid their own king.
