Proclamations and Harrow Petition Shape Early Parliament Actions
The Commons seized a trove of proclamations and commissions of array from Newhole at Ware. Lords reported Berkshire and others captured at Watlington to seize local magazines, then brought to the House and imprisoned in the Tower after examination. Ads warned of Lords retreating to country houses while officers planned to rejoin Parliament. A Harrow on the Hill petition urged restraint on a lecturer, with proceedings to remove disturbances and press charges against Willis.
