The Desperate Trek of Ernest Wilship in the Desert
In the Australian desert Ernest Wilship murders his companion McGregor with a sand filled water skin and flees, stealing valuables while abandoning most water. Stranded with dwindling supplies he plans survival, kills his horse for thirst, and ends his own life as thirst and heat drive him to madness in a bleak, solitary finale.
