Pot of Gold Tale From Australian Gold Mine
A sensational Melbourne story claims two miners working for the late G H Cox at Yullamuddy found a pot of gold and secretly sold it to the Sydney Mint for about £2000 each before fleeing the country. One has died, the other returned to relate the tale, with Mint records said to corroborate the hoard. The land of the find is held by Frazer and party at Parramatta, near Mr G Cadell’s paddocks beside the river.
