J. O. Youna and Co report 13 850 sheep penned with all qualities represented. Prime stock scarce and demand inactive due to increased supply. Lambs penned in moderate numbers but last day’s firm rates largely held. Cattle yarded 946, nearly 500 Queenslanders, buyers in full attendance. Demand for good and prime stock active and firm. middling and plain lots sold for lower prices.
Messrs Hill Clark and Co report that quality offered was not very good and competition for good incoming and well-furred lines was strong. All lower sorts, especially summer skins, showed about a 4d per lb drop with dull competition and a bleak outlook.
AezeTine of the Commons Trustees met Monday evening with Trustees Morria Murray Glasheen Frazer Mclean and Foulkes present. Frazer proposed action against a drover who last Saturday took a flock of Haver Park sheep over the Common without the required 12 hours notice. The chairman questioned fencing the Common and noted loan interest might be covered by higher rates. The Secretary was instructed to request authority on fencing the whole or part of the Common and on adjoining fences.
