Local Cemetery Trusteeship Contested by Sydney Council
Public Works Department letter from Sydney dated 1 May 1907 advises that Peak Hill Cemetery is not a public place under the Act. It states the Council must apply under Section 110 and Regulation 267 to gain power under Section 109(xv) to manage the cemetery, then petition the Governor to dissolve the Trust and assume care and control if granted. Until then the Council has no authority to interfere with the Trustees' management.

Despite fine dry weather and an earlier bountiful season, frost now appears and reserves are gone, leaving the countryside bleak and inhospitable.
