The mayor said Sunday work was needed due to an emergency from the late season while Councillor Batchelor disagreed noting no danger to life. She urged scheduling around the clock six days a week with Sunday off and introduced a resolution to stop Sunday work, seconded and passed by the council.
The Automotive Trades Association backs free enterprise and competition but ties support to efficiency and need to avoid misunderstandings about how many service stations may be built. The statement appears in the September 25 1963 issue of The Pas Herald.
