Minor Hockey Plans Set For October Arena Schedule
A meeting of the Kelsey Recreation Commission and Recreation Director outlined the October Minor Hockey schedule using last year’s plan. Arena opening is set for October 2 with a swap shop to trade equipment and a coaches clinic on October 7 led by Tom Hayward. The Hockey School runs October 9-10 under Wayne Hawrysh, and registration closes September 25.

Winton Pool Seeks Part Time Instructors For 1976
The Winton Pool resumes fall and winter operations with a staff shortage. They seek qualified instructors and advanced swimmers to train as instructors, especially daylight school program leaders. Applications contact pool supervisor at 623-2764 9 AM to 4 PM. Public swim 7 to 8 PM nightly, Learn to Swim four three week sessions through winter starting October, after school 4 to 5 PM weekdays, plus four Family Fun periods weekly.

Pas Track Club Opens Cross Country Season
The Pas Track Club announces the cross country season with the zone meet at Cranberry Portage on September 25. Coach Roger Schwegel notes a short season but readiness from an intensive summer program. Veterans Glen Viflanzoff and Roger Lourenzo lead the MBCI males, with new runners Brad Arthurson and Carl Ninine. JoAnne Curry headlines the female squad, with many girls training at home due to bus and work schedules. A September 16 trial meet at The Pas Golf Course pits the MBCI Team against the Senior Men's Fitness Club at 6:30 p.m. spectators welcome.

Manitoba Snowmobile Registrations Mailed for Three Year Period
Highways Minister Peter Burtniak announced that about 45,000 renewal applications are being mailed to Manitoba snowmobile owners for a three year license period from October 1 this year to September 30 1979. The fee is 30 dollars and insurance is optional. North of the 56th parallel snowmobiles within 10 miles of public roads including Lynn Lake Leaf Rapids Gillam and Churchill must also be registered.
