Northern Health program details spark budget and logistics talk
The Pas area outlines a $143 000 regional budget tied to MHSC registrations and transport costs. Chapman notes annual variations with population shifts, and says Winnipeg office can arrange return warrants. The meeting discusses equipment return efficiency, surplus funds use, escort fees for nurses, and lack of a universal standard for North regional fees. Magnusson explains billing changes and bad debts. The NPTP is positioned as flexible, medical in focus, and subject to ongoing problem identification.

Northern health transport warrants guide patient travel choices
Thompson Hospital is deemed most appropriate in some cases but Winnipeg may be chosen when specialist services are needed. Patients obtain warrants from transportation agencies and book their own travel, with subsidies transferable between rail bus and air options. The program has a fixed budget of 142 992 dollars, and funding additions may be sought if necessary.
