Knox Presbyterian Church wedding in Cranberry Portage Manitoba

Shirley Dianne Korney became bride of Colin Mitchell at Knox Church Cranberry Portage on August 24 1968. Ceremony featured gladiolus bouquets, lace gown with peau de soie, and family attendants. 120 guests attended a supper at the Community Hall followed by reception and dance. The couple planned a honeymoon at Waskasier National Park and will reside in The Pas Manitoba.

Legion Notes General Meeting Sees Moderate Attendance

Renovations underway at the club include a forthcoming cocktail lounge. Once renovations pass inspection and liquor license approval, heavy liquor sales will start. Dates to note include November 2 Fowl Supper with entertainment and November 9 Poppy Day. Admission Adults 1.50 Children 6 12 75 Under 6 free. A large portion of funds go to charities with grateful thanks for support.

Fire Prevention Poster Winners Listed for Week

Winners of the Fire Prevention poster contest held October 6 to 12 were chosen by the Fire Department. First place awarded to Tannis Hutton and Janis Voyer Sacre Heart Grade 1 with $10.00. Second went to James Moule Sacre Heart Grade 7 with $5.00. Additional first and second prizes were given to students from Opasquia School and Sacred Heart, including Kathryn Wickie Grade 5 and Lee Haven Grade 6.
