Rezoning idea shelved by council in Manitoba
The Manitoba Housing and Renewal Corporation proposed allowing five year occupancy holders in the Mobile Home Sub-division to build a single family house after five years. The resolution to ask the provincial planning branch to amend The Past Planning Scheme was withdrawn at last week’s council meeting. MHRC argued the plan would improve lot sales by aiding loan approvals, with banks more willing to finance after five years. The council authorized MHRC to finance all lot sales, keeping conventional financing options open.
