Eventide Home to Close on Patrick Avenue
The Eventide Home for Senior Citizens on Patrick Avenue will close at month end. Owner Rev. Ralph Smith says the property is for sale and denies selling to Churchill Forest Industries. The home, a 15 year landmark with 104 beds, now houses 27 residents and will be relocated by the Welfare Department. He cites competition from other better accommodations and notes required improvements did not boost occupancy.
