Eric Keddie retires from local business after 41 years with Keddie and Berg, leaving The Pas for a six month holiday with Mrs Keddie. At 69 he plans Vancouver and British Columbia interior exploration for possible small business ventures while preserving his local ties and historical writings.
The speaker notes enduring coldness since age twelve while working from Cumberland House to The Pas. He recalls passing through The Pas in 1904, returning with Finger Lumber in 1909, serving in World War I, and resuming work with Hudson's Bay Company by 1920.
The Pas town council approved buying an industrial tractor with loader and backhoe from Strand Motors for 9 059 81. Strand was the third lowest of eight bids. Dauphin’s Main and Milner bid 8 295. Case Ltd 8 962 77. The engineer noted the Strand machine met better specs though a tad over tender requirements.
