Two Juveniles Held After Break and Enter Spree
Town RCMP report two juveniles ages 11 and 15 were arrested after attempting to break into Gateway Drugs Hones Sporting Goods and Kelsey Glass in the early hours of May 19. A tire iron a hammer and a screwdriver were found at the scene. The pair confessed to other break ins including Grant’s Meat and Grocery The Pas Restaurant and The Miss The Pas. The 15 year old is jailed at The Pas Correctional Institute awaiting court on May 31 for forensic assessment. They are from Big Eddy and Umperville.

Burning ban posted amid arena of wildfires near Freshford
A forest fire near Freshford destroyed about three hundred acres of timber ten miles south of The Parks Branch prohibits open fires in Clearwater Provincial Park due to extreme dryness. Cooking fires allowed. Fire likely started by high winds fanning a meadow blaze near the valley and spreading rapidly.
