Councillor Bernstrom backs by pass as bridge plan sparks debate
The Herald lauds Councillor Bernstrom for proposing a bypass to the south and west of town amid traffic and safety concerns at Railway and First. The Railway Avenue site was chosen before a nearby saw and pulp mill appeared, now intensifying fears of heavy truck traffic and restricted parking. Residents worry a central highway jams the business district and favors easier shopping in a less congested area.
