Oil Dumped In River Near Saskatchewan Bridge
Dr. H. C. Rolfe, health director, reports about 45 gallons of crankcase oil dumped into the Saskatchewan River just west of the bridge. The slick lies near Rahl's Island and extends miles downstream, threatening waterfowl as ducks could have oil on their wings. Investigators will locate the source, with no recent dumping evident.

Oil Contamination Signals Water Supply Risk
Dr Rolfe reports March 25 water samples from The Past tested positive for oil, suggesting oil coming downriver from Saskatchewan or Alberta. Monthly samples planned for three to six months. Positive results may require more intensive treatment and replacement of equipment, affecting industrial use of river water.
