Doan Appointed Fish Director in Manitoba
Hon. Sterling R. Lyon appointed Dr. Doan as Manitoba fish director succeeding Burt Kooyman who joined the Canadian Wildlife Service. Doan, 51, brings wide Manitoba fishery knowledge from provincial lakes and has led the departments fisheries division since 1959. He previously served with the Fisheries Research Board of Canada and was acting director of the Winnipeg research station before its move to London Ontario. Doan has 13 scientific publications on bass yield trout and white whales.
