Outlook for 1969 crops and livestock sales
The outlook predicts a gloomy grain year with possible returns under nine dollars per acre after advances. Barley may rise modestly in demand, oats lag, flax likely down due to large global crops, rapeseed oil prices could firm, mustard and peas limited markets. Forage seed and livestock, especially hogs, show better profit prospects. A shift toward livestock appears advisable.
