Dumas Breach of Probation Case and Public Court Remarks
Edward Joseph Dumas of Pukatawagan faced a breach of probation charge after a drunken pick up in Cranberry Portage following release from custody. He claimed forgetting the alcohol abstention condition, promising to return to Pukatawagan if jailed. Judge W R Martin ordered probation to continue. The Pas case of Ralph Leonard Jory, charged with driving to the left of the highway, ended with dismissal for lack of evidence after testimony about icy conditions and a second truck crash. The judge stressed court openness to the public, except for juvenile court, urging public interest in justice.
