Old Friends and New Meet in Sail and Golf Outings
The writer fondly recalls annual reunions with old friends the Traplins and Bill Hanna, sharing long talks, late-night piano duets, and sailing misadventures. He then travels to Uxbridge for the Ontario Weekly Editors’ golf tournament, meeting numerous colleagues and noting lively, humorous encounters with companions from across Canada and the United States. The piece ends with a reflection on friendship’s value amid aging.
