Brewery site talk shifts to Clearwater Lake in Manitoba
Tartan Breweries head Ben Ginter says no firm decision on a two million dollar Manitoba brewery site. The Pas Chamber of Commerce president Evans Premachuk floated Clearwater Lake as suitable, stirring interest with its water color. Premachuk asked Manitoba Industry and Commerce about the idea, but no reply yet. The Pas CC previously lobbied for Tartan to consider Manitoba locations. Radar patrols intensify on highway ten and Clearwater Lake road as The Pas RCMP await a new radar unit. Premier Walter Weir visited The Pas and opened the Thompson Road bridge near Wabowden to honor Roxy Hamilton’s northern development advocacy. Court news hints at two northern magistrates and possibly two Crown Attorneys to cover Thompson, Churchill, Gillam, Flin Flon, The Pas, and Lynn Lake. Grade 12 students worry about missing results due to a postal strike and ask bulk results be sent to rural schools.
