Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Blouin of 161 First St East The Pas marked their 35th anniversary on January 22. Fern Blouin made a decorative plaque as a gift. Children gave a silver wine goblet set with a tray. A family gathering hosted by Mrs. Robert Medwid featured eleven children and relatives from The Pas Mansbridge Winnipeg Thompson St Lazare and Thompson.
A warm coffee cake made with four cut biscuits, butter, corn syrup, cinnamon and raisins. Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 400 degrees until browned, then invert onto a plate and serve with coffee. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
The Kinsmen Club of The Pas met January 23 1975 at Norlite Hall with Sidney Spivak as guest speaker addressing government spending issues. The group moved its February meeting to February 6 to avoid the Trappers Festival and approved an outdoor skating area project with Murray Potter as chair. Don Bieber was elected registrar. next meeting set for February 6 1975 at Norlite Hall.
January 21 1975 marked the first meeting for new officers installed December 1974. Officers listed include Worthy Matron Ada Bergson and Worthy Patron Albert Nicol. Events for the year feature a rummage sale April 19, Rag Raffle in June, Penny Parade September 19, and a Christmas Bake Sale November 8. E.S.T.A.R.L. awards seek Manitoban nominees and contact Ada Bergson or Mardene Premachuk. Mrs Emishe of Kenora won the Hawaii trip ticket draw.
