Rifle range plan eyed for school recreation facilities
Range plans for an indoor rifle facility at the school district faced scrutiny as estimates ranged from 65 000 to 250 000 dollars. Mosfat argued cost cuts are possible and tax money would not fund the project. He floated options including independent operation or integration with the Community Use of Schools Program. The site would require excavation and careful foundation oversight, with potential use for rifle club and archery instruction if built. Town Recreation Commission members criticized it as a misaligned priority amid broader program development.
