Pas youths push organized hockey on The Pas Reserve
A group calling itself The Pas United Races Youth Advancement Program plans to form all Indian leagues within minor hockey on The Pas Reserve. Ten youths have received a $12,000 federal grant to carry out programs including segregated hockey teams, tighter Manitoba game laws, a drop in center on The Pas Reserve, and street light decor. They say the aim is to unite people and protect the environment, while several members contest moose hunting practices by non residents. They cite an incident guided by Kim Colquhoun on the Saskatchewan River involving Minnesota hunters and a killed moose calf, and urge compulsory guiding, training, stronger guide authority, and non resident hunting limits. The youth also discuss tourism and Fort Pasquia remains.
