Disease Kills Local Dogs At The Pas Race Prep
Indian Affairs officials at The Pas planned to contact a federal veterinarian from Swan River to investigate a suspected dog illness outbreak on The Pas Reserve. Ernest Jebb reported three of his dogs sick and dead, two of which trained for the upcoming race, with two more deaths on the reserve and signs of illness spreading. If confirmed, the outbreak could affect the World Championship Dog Derby and is feared to be a hepatitis linked to frozen fish.
