Teachers offered 5% Raise in Kelsey School talks
Salary negotiations between local teachers and the Kelsey School Division progress favorably. Cal Gibson says meetings occur twice weekly with individual sessions. Mill Workers Treated After Food Poisoning Outbreak
Eight workers at the Chur Chill Forest Industries site were hospitalized for food poisoning last week with up to 14 ill but not hospitalized. Health officials collected food samples and destroyed or tested suspected items while awaiting lab results to identify the infection source. Norman Kerwin of the department warned the incident could have been worse as 360 men were fed in the on-site cafeteria.

Judo Club Championships in The Pas

Museum boosted by $1000 gift from Crown Life
Crown Life Insurance Company donated $1000 toward the new museum. The cheque was given to Dan Manych, president of the Rotary Club, by Jack Johnson at a Rotary meeting. Total funds from the March for Museum now stand at $7,516 with about $200 outstanding. Construction continues as two high school seniors Brenda Moreton and Dennis Yaworski, sponsored by Rotary, prepare for MUNA in Winnipeg during Easter.

The winter meeting of the North of 53 Medical Society was held at The Pas with 24 doctors attending. Dr. A M Cotton of The Pas was elected president for 1969 70. Delegates came from The Pas Flin Flon Lynn Lake Churchill Norway House and Thompson. Guest speakers included Dr P H Thorlakson Dr Otto Schmidt Dr T E Cuddy and Mr Richard Sprague. A social event followed dinner at the Gateway Hotel. A forestry complex site tour was conducted Saturday and a spring meeting is planned.
