Ministers scrutinize MHRC housing during Pas inspection
The Manitoba cabinet ministers Len Evans and other officials stopped in The Pas during an MHRC housing tour of northern communities. A Manitoba Metis Federation delegation had complained the units are overpriced and poorly built, with residents citing $20 000 houses worth far less and high mortgages in low income areas. Local officials urged broader inspection of The Pas projects including sub divisions and trailer lots.
