Highway crash in Manitoba kills Cranberry Portage man

A 43 year old Cranberry Portage man Erken Hentschel died Friday December 10 in a three vehicle crash on Highway 10 about 35 miles north of The Pas near Mitchill Lake. Gregory Brown 26 of Flin Flon was in a southbound Ford pickup and Adeline Yaremko 30 of Sturgeon Landing was in a GMC van. Bad weather blowing snow and icy roads contributed. Hentschel died from injuries in the initial collision. Brown was hospitalized for two days with minor injuries. Yaremko was uninjured. A post mortem will be done in Winnipeg and an inquest is pending. Charges are not likely.
