Scouts Develop Camp At Clearwater Lake
The Pas District Council of Boy Scouts launched a Centennial Project to create a scouting camp five miles north of Pioneer Bay at Mile 25. They leased ten acres, moved a 24 by 69 foot building for a kitchen and dining hall, and cleared grounds and a road to the site. Volunteers, including 80 scouts in July, are aiding with the work, aiming to finish next spring with possible use for a Provincial Scout Jamboree and local troop camp-outs. Estimated cost ranges from $3500 to $5000, with about half funded by donations from local businesses and citizens.
