Hudson Bay Railway Brings New Route to Canada’s West
The article argues that individualism delayed Western Canada’s development but the Hudson Bay Railway will unlock its potential. It notes Selkirk settlers and early Red River Valley reliance on Eastern Canada, then details rapid progress: Saskatchewan bridge finished, 50 miles graded, 220 miles cleared, with 150 more miles due by fall. A voyage on the Fairbanks Morse motor train hints at a bold, transformative era.
