Extra Constable Not Here Yet
The Pas awaits an extra RCMP constable to raise local strength to eight. Council voted two weeks ago to add an officer by April 1, but Winnipeg RCMP says arrival is uncertain due to staff shortages. Councillor Audrey Batchelor says the force will observe a five day week once the new officer arrives and she is pursuing a possible judicial inquiry into police matters.
