Methodist Anniversary Services Highlight Oxbow Week

Oxbow observed a Methodist Week with Sunday and Monday events. Rev A E Davis of Estevan gave talks on war and its impact on people. A Sunday school address covered the "Success of Failures." A large crowd attended the big fowl supper and Swiss Bell Ringers entertainments.

Acton Postmaster James Matthews Honored in Acton Free Press

A half tone portrait and世story salute James Matthews Acton's postmaster of sixty years. Born 1835 in Pilkington township he joined the post office in 1855 and witnessed Canada’s early stamp era. He introduced coal oil lamps and sewing machines to Acton in the 1870s. Mrs J H Melvin of South Portal visits Merrell family in town.
